Rough Draft

My Neighbor Totoro is a very popular children movie though the household of Japan. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki one of Japan’s adored animators. The Story centers on two young sisters Satsuki, and Mei they move into a rural area in Japan where there father is a professor there and their mother who is recovering for an unknown illness in a hospital near their new home. It is there at the new house where the girls discover a new environment, a mystical forest which is occupied with mystical creatures called Totoro’s. The story “My Neighbor Totoro” can teach young children different types of values of life.

Satsuki was very respectful when they first meet the Granny. Satsuki intrudes herself unlike her sister. The young little boy that lives in the same village gives them his umbrella while it’s pouring raining and he runs home in the rain. Once Satsuki and Mei get home they take the umbrella back to the young boy’s house and she gives it to his mother and she thanks his mother and runs off.

Though out the whole movie Satsuki shows how much she loves her sister mother and father. Midpoint of the movie Satsuki and Mei receive a massage from the hospital saying there mother will not be able to come home for the weekend. Mei takes of running with a homegrown corn that the granny gave her just before they received the bad news. She thinks that if she takes the corn to her mother that she will get better. But all that ends up happing is she gets lost in the rural city of Japan. Once her older sister finds out she is missing she is terrified about the where her sister is. She has no other place to go but to the mystical forest and asks help from the Totoros’s. Over all My Neighbor Totoro is a very good movie for young children to watch.
